CORALS’ Insights and Review (C’IR) is where applied intelligence meets real-world impact.
Another innovation by Dr. Michelle Preiksaitis – educator, research strategist, publisher, attorney, and founder of CORALS LLC – C’IR was created to publish the insights that often get left behind in formal academic spaces. From back-of-the-envelope models to polished white papers, from field-tested frameworks to lived narratives, this is where practical wisdom becomes permanent contribution.
Why We Exist
C’IR is the applied-practice sibling to C’JAR, CORALS’ peer-reviewed research journal. While C’JAR focuses on formal scholarship, C’IR recognizes the value of professional insight, innovation, and experimentation happening outside of the ivory tower – and brings it into the spotlight.
We serve professionals, practitioner-scholars, and industry leaders who shape systems, guide strategy, and solve complex problems daily. C’IR exists for those who test, reflect, build, adapt, and lead.
Leadership and Editorial Insight
The journal’s founding senior editorial team brings decades of combined expertise across sectors:
- D. Amanda Tanner, Associate Editor of C’JAR and editorial production lead for CORALS publications, brings deep experience mentoring doctoral researchers and translating research into impactful formats.
- Dr. Bruce Chapman, Senior Consultant Editor and systems strategy guru, is known for his rare mix of creative brilliance and analytical rigor. A lead contributor in engineering and construction research, Bruce is also the keyboardist for Rare Elephant—and brings equal precision to music theory and statistical models.
Together, Drs. T and C support Dr. P in ensuring C’IR’s editorial process is rigorous, relevant, and responsive to the needs of working professionals.
What We Publish
C’IR is editor-reviewed, not peer-reviewed. Submissions are assessed using a structured rubric focused on:
- Clarity – is the insight well-communicated?
- Originality – does this offer something fresh or useful?
- Relevance – will professionals in the field care?
We welcome:
- White and gray papers
- Structured literature reviews
- Grounded theory starts
- Pilot test results
- Visual frameworks
- Practitioner-developed models and tools
- Field-based essays, narratives, and professional reflections
